Recent Spring & Summer 08 Wedding Work!

Hello again from http://www.christophersphotos.com/ Christopher's Photography has been so busy editting wedding images from the spring & summer we have not had time to update our blog. Here are a few that we liked and will post more as we get them processed. A few new pieces of equipment have been added to our bag such as the new Nikkor 16-85mm F 2.8 VR, Nikon D300 and another Radio Popper reciever http://www.radiopopper.com/ ! We are now using a double off camera flash set up and it rocks. Just did a engagement session with them and will soon post them. We are still booking into 2009 and are always open to meeting new Dallas / Fort Worth couples or even couples from other states that need a destination photographer. Have cameras will travel, lol.. Radio Poppers Have Arrived ! Trial Shots

The wait is over! The new Radio Poppers have arrived and we love them! The line of sight problem is gone and what a relief. No more yelling at my assistant (wife) lol, to move over here, move over there. Christopher's Photography has now done our first video ad. http://www.christophersphotos.com/ will have our first video on http://www.youtube.com/ as of 3/30/08 . It's a start of more to come from us! We have also just ordered some great new equipment such as The Radio Poppers http://www.radiopopper.com/ and some Alien Bee strobes to are arsenal of lighting. The Radio Poppers are going to add a whole new demention to our shooting! With the radio wave signal and TTL ability we will be able to shoot in bright light at a 1.8 0r 2.8 and up to 1/8000 ! This along with no line of sight needed our wireless shootiing will be unbelievable. Well here is our first video!

Christopher's Photography Hits The Road In Texas!

Christopher's Photography takes a road trip with the family to try out new wireless flash method. With nothing to do on a Sunday afternoon we decided to hit the road and do some street photography in Texas! We found this great little gas station called The Petrified Gas Station in Ducator, TX. The Nikon CLS system is great, but we soon will be investing in The Radio Popper system http://www.radiopopper.com/ this will enable us to fire our flash via a radio signal , no line of sight needed. The Radio Poppers will help us with use creative light captures that should help us climb the ranks in the Dallas / Fort wedding photography market. Engagement at the Gaylord Texan!

Christopher's Photography http://www.christophersphotos.com/ had a blast with Cherie & Johns engagement session at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine, TX last week. They are set to be married there in May and we were lucky enough to be able to use this beautiful location . With our Nikon CLS wireless flash system that we learned how to use from a Tri-Coast Photography workshop http://www.tricoastphoto.com/ worked great! We also had fun with some natural light shots with the giant glass ceiling there at the Gaylord. We at Christopher's Photography have been book up solid last month and we are getting pretty full for spring and summer of 2008. We do owe a lot to what we have learned from the Texas Photo Forum http://www.texasphotoforum.com/ , this is where we have gained a lot of knowledge about lighting and the Nikon CLS system. Thanks Able of the Texasphotoforum.com . Cherie & John will be married at the Gaylord on May 24th so we should be posting some new photos from their event. The place is so grand and there are so many photo ops there we are really looking forward to shooting there again. A BUSY WEDDING BOOKING SEASON HAS BEGUN

Most of May is booked and we have some spots left in the spring months going into this summer! Wedding consults have been an on going affair for us Christopher's Photography, we have been meeting with Dallas soon to be brides and covering our wedding packages . Sales have been 100% every meeting I have been to has booked their wedding with us. I think sales have been 100% due to the fine post processing we have been using on our images. I do also believe that our new creative lighting system has put our work up with the best and the Dallas brides are taken notice! Having our site on http://www.betterphoto.com/ has help a lot. My newest goal for http://www.christophersphotos.com/ Christopher's Photography this year 2008 is to do some destination weddings and travel photography. My goal is to book weddings every weekend until fall and then take a exotic travel to possibly the Inca Trail in South America. I have always had a fascination with that culture and its ancient background. To visit the Mayan Temples and see where the Mayan Calender was originated would be the icing on the cake for Christopher's Photography this year. I hope to get some great travel photographs that can be sold through http://www.alamy.com/ and maybe http://www.gettyimages.com/ . In hopes of being a professional travel photographer who also does destination weddings, I will be doing research in this field to better understand the business and fine tune my photography skills at the same time. Well its 2008 and http://www.christophersphotos.com/ is looking forward to a awesome new year! Christopher's Photography will be adding to their wedding photography in the new year with a brilliant new lighting style. With what we have learned from a TriCoast workshop we will be crowning wedding brides & grooms with creative and custom lighting. They will shine!

Our wedding photography will take a leap into the future of creative light captures that will surpass our local wedding photographers. This may sound boastful, but we are reaching for the top. We hope to learn more this year and give back to our brides the ultimate wedding photography coverage. Workshop with TriCoast Photography!

Well sorry have not posted in a while! Just been so busy shooting engagements, weddings and what not. The good news is ? I just attended a great creative off camera flash workshop with the famous guys over at Tricoast Photography http://www.tricoastphoto.com/ It was held in the old historic Cotton Mill in Mckinney TX . This was one of the best workshops I have ever attended. I learned so much about the Nikon CLS (Creative Light System). Its all about getting that flash off camera! Like the Strobist site teaches http://www.strobist.com/ ! Well I will post a few from the TriCoast Photo workshop, enjoy! Look for some up comming wedding stuff I have done recently.

Well got up real early today and went to downtown Ft Worth, TX to get some morning sunrise shots and did some HDR (High Dynamic Range) shooting! Got some great stuff and was checked by the local police while doing it! Because of 9/11 they said they need to check all people photographing the city, so I submitted to him and gave him my licence and everything checked out. Well here are a few shots I came away with.

Welcome to Christopher's Photography!
Join us on our wonderful voyage from the begining of our photography business to the top! I am Christopher and my assistant is my beautiful wife Carmen. Carmen is a Romanian transplant to the USA. We started working together on this venture about a year ago after returning from our trip to our timeshare in Steamboat Springs, CO. After returning home with some great photos from a point & shoot camera I decided to set out and fufill a life long dream of mine, photography! I had know idea at the time it would be where its at only one short year later. Carmen has always loved to tinker with images, creating collages and enhancing them. She now does the majority of our fine post processing.

What I am going to try to do is post in this blog our progress through the venture of a semi-pro photographer to the top of the heap! I truley believe I have what it takes to do this. In just a few months of my gaol I had started to enter phots into contest on www.betterphoto.com I have since had 1 second place and 5 finalist! I also have recieved over 60 Editors Picks. These are out of 26 thousand entries worldwide once a month. I have joined many forums like www.texasphotoforum.com . People that view my work and realize that I have just got started cannot believe the eye I have. I shoot everyday and love to do weddings. I get most of my work through word of mouth and some small ads. I would love to start putting more money into marketing, but I spend most on equipment at this time. I believe that if you have the propor tools in you're belt you can accomplish anything! My equipment ranges from 2 Nikons D80, D70 plus a bunch of lens's and Strobist style off camera flash set ups.

What I really believe is that I am at the point where I can shoot with the best of them! If I am n the right spot with a beautiful bride and a beautiful church I will be able to walk away with some of the best shots of the day! A little modest, yes! Finaly in my life I am taking a stand, I rock at this photography business. I am good and keep getting better every day.
